THIS WEEK AT VSBL #8 - 11/20/2023

Welcome back to another TWAV!  We missed you last week, but we're glad to be back today.  While this will be a short iteration of TWAV, we want to provide a little more clarity into the end of 2023 for us at VSBL.

We're Listening to Your Feedback

We sent out a survey last week and have received over 300 responses so far. Sheeeesh!  Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback, we really, really appreciate it. You're voice is the most important thing to us, and we are so grateful for this community.  Please keep the feedback coming so we can continue to steward this product well.

Bugs and issues

This is our #1 priority.  The amount of bugs and issues being reported every day has dropped dramatically, and we're continuing to address anything that comes up - as well as doing our own internal testing. Rest assured, we will get any remaining issues squashed!

A few notes so far

We're hearing all manners of praise & concerns for the new Shifts and Setups.  We'll be continuing to reach out to restaurants to better understand what could be better, or what you love.  We will then iterate on this feedback to help relieve any pain points! On that note, here's what we're considering right now:

A simplified Setups view

Based on feedback thus far, we're hearing some people find the new Setups view a little too overwhelming.  While I can't guarantee anything yet, we are brainstorming how we could introduce a simplified Setup view.  One that gets rid of any clutter, and just gives you the basics: Where people are positioned & when.

Easier-to-digest Shift view

Similar to Setups view, we're hearing that maybe there's a better, more intuitive approach for the Shift view. Perhaps there's a way to make the things you need to see stand-out better.  Again, no promises yet - but we're looking into this feedback!

Planning the rest of the year and 2024

Over the last week, all 3 teams have been working on their plans for the rest of the year and 2024.  Let me tell you, there's alot of good stuff in the oven.

Today, each team presented their plans to the entire VSBL team, and a lot of clarity was gained.  We're looking at implementing new systems & processes for how we develop our product, tools we'll be building to better support you, and new features we're planning to create out in 2024... including some new fun stuff for our website.

While we can't share many details yet, I assure you we'll be giving you a look at the 2024 roadmap as soon as possible.  It's important we're transparent with our goals!

One last note: Stabilization.

One of our highest priorities from now until the end of Q1, 2024 is stabilization.  We will be taking time to slow down on developing new features and focus on improving technical systems to increase stability. Paired with our new Design System that's in the works, you'll start to see the app improving in many different ways, from tap-targets to consistent filters & loading times, our goal is to stabilize and prepare for Q2-4 of 2024.
